Where I'm headed
I'm a senior Rails & Go engineer, and I'm deliberately taking my craft closer to the metal — toward distributed systems, C, and embedded. This is the direction, anchored to what I've already built. Not a wish list — a trajectory.
Updated July 2026
What I'm actively building and doing.
-
Senior Rails & Go backend work
Multi-tenant SaaS, financial integrations, PostgreSQL under load — full-time, contract, or advisory.
-
Shipping my own products
Constat (B2B bug capture), Railyard (deploy platform), Recall (iOS audiobook study app, live on the App Store).
-
Writing
Turning the real systems I build into posts — the honest parts included.
Where I'm deepening — building on threads that are already in my work.
-
Distributed systems, deeper
Railyard already runs a Rails control plane driving Go agents over gRPC. I want to go further down this path — consensus, coordination, failure modes.
-
C
The foundation under both systems internals and embedded. Coming from Ruby and Go, it's the layer I want to actually understand, not just call into.
On the horizon — where the systems path meets the metal.
-
Embedded & IoT
I've already shipped astronomical prayer-time math to a Garmin watch — offline, power-aware GPS, from first principles. I want to do more of this close-to-the-hardware work.
-
Drones
Where embedded, C, and control systems come together in something you can hold. The fun end of the roadmap.
