General

What is PDFify?

PDFify is a modern HTML-to-PDF conversion API that helps developers generate high-quality PDF documents from HTML content. We offer a simple REST API, excellent documentation, and affordable pricing - making it the perfect alternative to DocRaptor.

How is PDFify different from other PDF services?

PDFify offers 50% cheaper pricing than DocRaptor while maintaining the same quality and reliability. We provide modern CSS support (Flexbox, Grid), fast conversion times (<2s average), and a developer-first approach with excellent documentation and client libraries.

Do I need a credit card to try PDFify?

No! You can sign up and start using PDFify immediately. Our Starter plan includes 100 PDFs per month for free. Upgrade to a paid plan when you're ready to scale.

Pricing & Billing

What happens if I exceed my monthly PDF quota?

If you reach your monthly quota, API requests will return a 429 error until the next billing cycle or until you upgrade your plan. You can upgrade at any time from your dashboard, and the change takes effect immediately.

Can I change my plan at any time?

Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately, and you'll be charged a prorated amount. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

Do you offer discounts for annual billing?

Yes! Save 20% by choosing annual billing on any paid plan. The discount is applied automatically when you select annual billing during checkout.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) through Stripe. Enterprise customers can also request invoice billing.

Technical

What CSS features are supported?

PDFify supports modern CSS3 including Flexbox, Grid, custom fonts, background images, gradients, transforms, and more. We use a modern rendering engine that handles CSS the same way modern browsers do.

Can I use custom fonts in my PDFs?

Yes! Include custom fonts using @font-face in your CSS or by linking to Google Fonts. Make sure the font files are accessible via public URLs for best results.

What's the maximum file size for HTML input?

The maximum input size varies by plan: Starter (2MB), Professional (10MB), Enterprise (50MB). This includes your HTML, CSS, and any inline assets.

How long does PDF generation take?

Most PDFs are generated in under 2 seconds. Complex documents with many pages or external resources may take longer. Our API uses synchronous processing, so you'll receive the PDF as soon as it's ready.

Do you support JavaScript in HTML?

Currently, JavaScript is not executed during PDF generation. We recommend rendering your HTML server-side before sending it to our API. JavaScript support is planned for a future release.

Migration

How easy is it to migrate from DocRaptor?

Very easy! For Ruby apps, simply swap the docraptor gem with pdfify-client and update your configuration. Use profile: "docraptor" for maximum compatibility with existing templates. See migration guide.

Will my existing PDF templates work with PDFify?

Yes! PDFify supports standard HTML and CSS, so your existing templates should work with minimal or no changes. We offer DocRaptor compatibility mode for even easier migration.

Support

What kind of support do you offer?

All plans include email support with 24-hour response times. Professional plan includes priority support with same-day responses. Enterprise customers get dedicated support with custom SLAs and a dedicated account manager.
